What ElevateU knows about you
ElevateU handles the answers a student gives on a real job application, including visa and work-authorisation questions. This says plainly what is stored, what the browser extension can reach, and what leaves your account.
What the extension can see
The extension runs on two kinds of page and nothing else. On elevateuapp.org it reads your sign-in so it can talk to your account. On a job application page, only after you click the ElevateU icon, it reads the form fields so it can fill them.
It cannot see any other tab, and it does not run in the background on pages you have not asked it to work on. Chrome enforces this: the extension requests activeTab, which grants access to one page at the moment you click it, rather than permission to read the web.
What it stores on your computer
One value: your ElevateU sign-in token, in the browser's extension storage. It is what lets the extension ask ElevateU for your saved answers. It expires on its own, and is replaced automatically the next time you open ElevateU while signed in.
Removing the extension deletes it. Signing out of ElevateU makes it useless.
What ElevateU stores about you
The things you typed: name, contact details, address, education, work history, your resume, and your work-authorisation answers. Also what you did with them, which is to say which jobs you were shown, which you prepared applications for, and which you marked as applied.
Your work-authorisation and visa answers are stored exactly as you wrote them and are never reworded, improved or guessed at, because those answers go onto real applications.
Who else sees it
Nobody buys it, because it is not for sale. There are no ads, no data brokers and no cross-site tracking.
Three processors are involved in running the product: Supabase stores the database, Google Cloud Run runs the backend, and an AI provider (Groq, with OpenAI as a fallback) receives your resume text and a job description at the moment you ask for a tailored application. They process it to answer that one request. If you connect your own AI key, those requests go to your account instead.
Page-view counts are collected without cookies and without cross-site tracking, which is why this site has no consent banner.
What never happens
No application is ever submitted for you. The extension fills fields and stops.
Nothing is posted, emailed or shared on your behalf except the ElevateU emails you can see in your own inbox: a welcome message, one setup reminder, and notifications when drafts are ready.
Deleting your data
Ask, and the account and everything attached to it is deleted. There is no retention period we keep it for afterwards and no backup copy we quietly hold on to.
Questions, or a deletion request: reach the operator through the account you signed up with. See also what ElevateU costs.
